Retirement is a time of transition and
planning for retirement can be a very complex
process. Many people approaching retirement
find themselves unequipped to put together
a sound financial plan that will carry them
through their retirement years.
The transition from saving for retirement
and living in retirement is daunting for
retirees who no longer receive a regular
paycheck and must draw upon savings. One
of the questions most asked by pre-retirees
is, “What can I live on in retirement
and not run out of money?” To assist
in this effort, Brick & Kyle offers
a full range of personalized, individual
retirement planning services.
Step One: B&K’s Personal Retirement
Profile
The foundation of the Brick & Kyle financial
planning process is the Personal Retirement
Profile (PRP), a personalized, individual
analysis designed for individuals within 5
to 10 years of retirement. During a 1-hour
counseling session, the PRP is created using
a sophisticated proprietary software program
which provides detailed projection of an individual’s
financial scenario over a 30-year period.
The program factors in sources of retirement
income, Social Security, estimated annual
living expenses, as well as variables such
as cost of living adjustments, inflation and
tax rate changes. The end result is the determination
of how much the retiree can afford to live
on in retirement and not run out of money.
During the course of the counseling session,
other financial matters such as pension options,
insurance needs, debt management problems
and estate planning are also addressed. During
this review, the B&K team offers practical
recommendations to help the pre-retiree prepare
for the years ahead.
If you choose to have Brick & Kyle handle
your investments, we can accommodate that
request. However, you can feel confident
that our planning process is done on a completely
objective basis since it is provided on
a fee basis, and therefore is not driven
by product or commission incentives.
Step Two: Implementation of your Financial
Plan
Our staff
includes Certified Financial Planners®,
Investment Advisors and Chartered Life Underwriters
who work together to implement your financial
plan. (Click

members.)
These services include:
Asset Management:
Managing and investing assets properly in
retirement is critical in realizing the goals
and meeting the needs of retiree. The choice
of investments and the allocation of assets
must be done carefully to ensure that the
projections (as generated in the “Personalized
Retirement Profile”) become a reality.
Insurance Planning: Existing whole
life or term life insurance coverage may not
be required, and in some cases, should be
surrendered if the need for coverage has been
met. Life insurance provides liquidity to
pay taxes and settlement costs in one’s
estate.
Estate Planning: The major tools of
estate planning are wills, gifts, and trusts
which are utilized to preserve wealth and
if not dissipated, ensure that assets are
passed on to heirs in the most tax efficient
manner possible.
Step Three: Manage Your Retirement Income
through B&K’s Personal Banking
Services
Brick & Kyle makes it possible for you
to have your own private bank teller who
can handle all your banking needs by phone.
This would include virtually any service
you would need from a bank, including:
- Direct withdrawals (to pay mortgages,
utilities, car payments, etc.)
- Wire transfers
- Personal and business checking
- Automatic direct deposit (for Social
Security, pension checks, etc.)
- Automatic disbursement of funds
- Online access to personal, IRA and
business accounts.
All funds and securities are protected under
the Securities Investor Protection Corporation
(SIPC): standard checking/savings accounts
are protected up to $5,000,000 and IRA accounts
are protected up to $10,000,000.
